While selling an item I no longer needed on Ebay, I met a total stranger who was helping her sister re-decorate her living room to cheer her up during a difficult time nursing her husband at home. She was buying my item to put in her sisters new room. I was so touched by her story that I asked if I could make something for her new living room and send it for her as a gift. She was decorating Shabby Chic and this is what I made for her!

I bought the frame at Marshall's and took the glass out. For the background I found this beautiful white embossed cardstock paper at Michael's. I already had everything else I needed to make it: pearl stickers, floral printed paper, green ribbon, a love stamp and a flower punch. The entire gift cost under $20.

She loved it! I never did meet her, but we corresponded through emails for a while afterwards. It was so special to do something small for a stranger who took such loving care of her husband with selfless devotion. That is why the heart and love stamp were what I used. I don't even remember what her sister bought from me. It became something different for me than that.

Using a small flower punch, I punched out 4 flowers per rose. The top flower I cut down to 3 petals for the first layer of the roses. I curled and shaped each petal by hand and then hot glued each layer. Then I added the pearl stickers to each rose and glued them on to the background paper in the shape of a heart.
I am so glad I took pictures of this! It makes me happy just looking at them and remembering what a wonderful stranger I was blessed to correspond with who lived on the other side of the country. She touched my heart.
